A website for tradespeople that collects useful job enquiries

A customer asks “How much will the job cost?” but gives no location, measurements or photos. A useful trades website can collect that information before your team starts chasing answers.

Explain precisely which jobs you take

Break your offer into recognisable services such as decorating, tiling, repairs, installations or renovation. Describe typical scope and when a property inspection is required. A visitor should not need to telephone merely to discover whether you do the work.

State important exclusions: emergency call-outs, large commercial projects or travel outside your coverage, for example. A clear website can prevent enquiries that are impossible for you to fulfil.

Use real coverage details and original work examples

Display your base and the towns or regions you actually serve. Avoid producing dozens of near-identical town pages with only the location changed. Accurate coverage information is more useful to customers.

Where you have publishing permission, show your own job photographs with concise descriptions. Do not replace verified examples with fabricated case studies or customer reviews.

Make the enquiry flow mobile-friendly

Ask for job type, postcode or town, approximate size, timing, a short description and optional photographs. Include an “unsure” response when a customer cannot measure the job precisely. Every required field should have a clear reason.

Test that mobile submissions really arrive and that the customer sees an accurate acknowledgement. A form that looks polished but never notifies the company is not a working sales process.

Measure lead quality rather than traffic alone

Track how many enquiries include enough details for an initial decision and how many fit your actual services. More visitors are not automatically better if all the enquiries require repetitive clarification.

Start with the questions your team needs answered. A calculator may follow once you have approved pricing rules, but hidden damage and unusual conditions still need human assessment.

These are illustrative use cases, not claims about completed client projects.
